Sara Bawany, Afshan Malik, Tayyaba Syed

Interabang Books is pleased to offer a unique program featuring Muslim women authors Sara Bawany, Afshan Malik, and Tayyaba Syed. Expect a healthy dialogue about what’s out there regarding Islam, women of color, and authenticity as this trio addresses the topic of Muslim women's taking back their narratives. Join us for a one-of-a-kind panel discussion as they present their latest works: PIECES, THE BLESSED BANANAS, and (W)HOLEHEARTED.

(W)HOLEHEARTED author Sara Bawany is a poet, writer, and occasional spoken word artist with a passion for bringing to light some of the most taboo issues in the South Asian and Muslim community. Afshan Malik is the author of PIECES and Director of Development for Rabata, an organization dedicated to positive cultural change through creative educational experiences. Afshan holds a Masters in Nonprofit Management and certifications for Fundraising,  Digital Marketing and community-related specialties.
