Demystifying the Writing and Publishing Process | LitTalk at Interabang Books

Writing Workshops Dallas

LitTalk at Interabang is happy to present our next panel discussion: Demystifying the Writing and Publishing Process.

Alex Temblador, author of the award-winning Secrets of the Casa Rosada, will moderate a panel that includes New York Times Bestseller of crime and historical fiction, Kathleen Kent (The Dime), A. Lee Martinez (Gil's All Fright Diner, Monster, and The Constance Verity Trilogy), and Brooke Fossey (The Big Finish, Penguin/Berkley April 2020).

With National Novel Writing Month underway, this panel of DFW authors will discuss how to write and complete a book, finding an agent, and the realistic process of getting published. Audiences will also learn about the following:

  • The writing habits of some of DFW's most successful authors
  • How to write a book quickly
  • The individual editing process
  • The process of finding a literary agent
  • What happens when your book is out "on submission" with publishing houses
  • The time it takes to get published
  • The editing process once your book has been acquired for publication
  • Writing craft tips and advice
  • Publishing process among different genres

Each panelist on the Demystifying the Writing and Publishing Process panel will suggest their favorite books on writing and publishing. These books, as well as their own novels, will be available for sale and signing. Following this panel, you will have renewed energy to finish your novel and join the ranks of published DFW authors.
