About the Author

Fernand Dacquin has traveled the world as a journalist, specializing in tourism and distillates. He's visited Scotland, the birthplace of whisky, hundreds of times and drew inspiration from all these trips for articles on whisky in newspapers and magazines in Flanders and the Netherlands. In 2011, he became Keeper of the Quaich, which is usually reserved for people from the whisky industry itself. He is co-organizer of the International Malt Whisky Festival in Ghent and also took part in the festival in The Hague. In 2017, he was inducted into the Royal Celtic Society, founded by Sir Walter Scott in 1820, for his contribution to publicizing and spreading Scottish culture.
