At Interabang Books, we support equal rights for all, and “all” surely includes the LGBTQ persons in our community – and indeed, among our staff. While it might seem mainstream today to find such representation in many levels of government, not to mention inclusion in entertainment and advertising, these are recent developments. In the long view of history, these are new stories. That’s why it’s important to feature new books that address the full spectrum of stories told by LGBTQ authors: tales of hope, heroism, faith, family, love, struggle, and success.
We hold the history of the movement in our shelves, and we let the voices of the community speak through our books. From picture books showing representation to histories of Stonewall, and from fiction to eyewitness accounts, here are our LGBTQ favorites this year. We encourage you to explore and enjoy them.
