Soon after moving to a new home by the sea to be near her Grandma, Margaret discovers a baby unicorn who has been left behind when his herd passes over the sea on their journey to Unicorn Island on the last summer wind. Her Grandma tells her that the unicorns won’t pass by again until next spring, so Margaret cares for the young unicorn and they become the best of friends. This heartwarming tale of love, friendship and growing up, made even more special with the exquisite illustrations that bring the story to life, is sure to become a favorite.

An instant classic - the tale of two unlikely friends, this marvelous book and its endearing characters will make their way into your heart as they did mine. A serious rock collecting badger who can be a bit grumpy, and a lonely but loving skunk who is a great cook are thrown together when they become roommates at Aunt Lulu’s brownstone. The friendship that develops is like many of the best friendships, challenging at times, filled with compromise, mutual acceptance and most of all love. I am especially happy to know that this book is the beginning of a three part series as I want to hear more about the adventures of these two fabulous characters.

Published: HarperCollins - September 8th, 2020

Sharon Creech has brought us many stories of growing up and discovering ourselves, and ONE TIME is a brilliant addition to her collection of greats. In this story, Gina Filomena has always felt different than those around her, but it is not until she meets Antonio, a new neighbor boy who definitely marches to his own drummer that she realizes that she is not alone in that thought. On the first day of school, their teacher, Miss Lightstone has a simple message written on the board, “WHO ARE YOU?” As the students and their teacher explore this idea throughout the year, they all realize that they each have the opportunity to write their own story. A beautiful massage delivered perfectly.

It is 1983, in a slightly alternative London, where Susan is searching for her father who she has never met, that she meets up with a young left-handed bookseller named Merlin, an Old World magical being who coincidentally is on a quest of his own to find his mother’s killer. Their paths have crossed for a reason and together with Merlin’s sisiter, Vivian, a right-handed bookseller, they set off on an adventure of unexpected twists and turns through a world of magical realism that is creative and enchanting on every page.
